The roads to the Kinglake Ranges have been opened to the public and visitors are being urged to respect residents as they visit the area.
Victorian Police Deputy Commissioner Kieran Walsh hopes the access attracts tourist dollars, but not unwanted stickybeaks.
KIERAN WALSH: “Just respect the people who are up here. People up here have gone through a fair amount of trauma. They’ve lost properties, they’ve lost relations and friends and you know there’s still a lot of recovery of them to go into the future. So, if you’re going to come up here, please, just respect the residents up here”.
Vistors are asked to support our local businesses by buying locally.
Please observe road speed limits and be aware of wildlife crossing the road.
