Additional bushfire counselling sessions available

Victorians directly affected by the 2009 Victorian bushfires now have increased access to psychological counselling support, Community Services Minister Lisa Neville said today.

Tourism Industry Recovery Workshops

As part of a joint $10 million Federal and State Government initiative, a special funding allocation has been made to help the State’s tourism industry recover from the recent bushfires, which swept the State. Murrindindi and Mitchell Shires will share in this funding.

Bushfire Appeal Fund Assistance for Homeowners

Grants of up to $15,000 will be paid to people who lost their homes to help them with the transition from temporary accommodation into their new homes.

Impact of Bushfires on Children

This session is for parents and carers of children aged 0 to 10 years. Are you concerned about the impact that the bushfires may have on your child? These forums will help you recognise whether your young person is troubled by their recent experiences.

Grants for sports clubs and associations

Sportscover Sponsorship Fund is distributing grants to sports clubs and associations that were affected by the bushfires. The Fund will be used to distribute 20 grants of $1,000 per club to replace sports equipment that has been lost due to that disaster.

Unique memorial by the sea

Remember your loved ones lost on Black Saturday by having their names written in the sand at a beach in Somers, on the Mornington Peninsula. A photograph is taken and emailed or can be placed on the memorial website along with a personal message.
