Reviving & Rebuilding the Kinglake Ranges – Public Forum

Date: 19th July 2009

Time: 10am – 4pm

Includes: Lunch

The Kinglake Ranges is a special place, with uniquely beautiful environmental assets and amazingly inclusive community spirit. The events of February 7 have changed our mountain home forever. But from this terrible tragedy comes an opportunity.

Come and help us rebuild and revive the Ranges. We’ll explore new ideas, opinions and future directions. We’ll set a framework for rebuilding through a facilitated community meeting. The work done by community groups will form part of the discussion, but the focus of the day is on you, the Kinglake Ranges resident; we want to hear your thoughts, ideas and aspirations for a stranger more resilient, connected local community.

The outcomes of this meeting will form the basis of a community recovery plan which will be given to VBRRA and other philanthropic organisations to help us remake the Kinglake Ranges.

Bring the kids along, free childcare is provided with heaps of fun activities including kids karaoke, dancing, gymnastics and of course, face painting.

If you can’t make it to the meeting, don’t miss out on your chance to have your say. Tell us what your priorities are for rebuilding the community, from the small to the large, the obvious to the ambitious, we want to hear it all.
