Kinglake Ranges Men’s Shed is a project which commenced in 2005 following the launch of a new community group called KANDO – Kinglake Action Network & Development Organisation (KANDO) Inc. in September 2004.

An ‘Opportunities for Men’ Action Group was established and a promotion and expression of interest campaign began. With little available existing (local) infrastructure, there was definitely an interest and need.

Fast forward to the weeks after the devasting fires of Saturday 7 February, known as Black Friday, and the Kinglake Ranges Mens Shed project if well and truly back in the minds of those who started the project. KANDO passed the project to a couple of blokes who immediately secured a Shed and concrete slab from Goulburn Valley Family Care, a piece of land to build it on from the Stokes Family, and a variety of donations from Hand and Power Tool companies.

Kinglake Ranges Mens Shed Inc. was born.
